Liverpool completed several deadline-day moves on Tuesday, with a deal agreed for teenage goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans and Harvey Elliott joining Valencia on loan. Stefan Bajcetic and Keyrol Figueroa also left the club, while Bradley Barcola began work with his new Liverpool teammates ahead of Friday’s Premier League trip to Ipswich Town.
Liverpool agree deal for Lucca Brughmans
Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from KRC Genk.
The Belgian goalkeeper has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool but will return to Genk on loan for the remainder of the 2026-27 season. Liverpool confirmed the agreement on Tuesday.
Brughmans made his senior Genk debut in April and remained in the side for the final 10 league matches of last season. He has also started all four of Genk’s league matches so far this campaign.
Sky Sports reported the deal at around £30 million. Brughmans has represented Belgium at youth level and captained his country at both the UEFA U17 European Championship and FIFA U17 World Cup in 2025.
Elliott joins Valencia on loan
Harvey Elliott has joined Valencia on loan for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool confirmed the move before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. The 23-year-old midfielder returned to Anfield this summer after spending last season on loan at Aston Villa.
Elliott has made 149 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Fulham in 2019, scoring 15 goals. The Guardian reported that the Valencia loan does not include an obligation to buy.
Bajcetic completes Celta Vigo return
Stefan Bajcetic has completed a permanent transfer to Celta Vigo.
The Spain youth international returns to the club Liverpool signed him from in 2021. Bajcetic made 22 senior appearances for Liverpool and scored once after making his first-team debut at the age of 17.
Injuries restricted his progress in recent seasons, with loan spells at Red Bull Salzburg and Las Palmas before the permanent move back to Spain.
Figueroa joins Port Vale on loan
Academy forward Keyrol Figueroa has joined Port Vale on loan for the 2026-27 season.
The 20-year-old has been with Liverpool since U14 level and started both of the U21 side’s opening Premier League 2 fixtures this season. He scored 12 goals in 15 Premier League 2 appearances last campaign.
Barcola begins work ahead of Ipswich
Bradley Barcola trained at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday following the completion of his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The France international joined Liverpool on Monday on a five-year contract. Liverpool’s official coverage showed Barcola working with fellow French players Hugo Ekitike and Jeremy Jacquet as he began preparations with Andoni Iraola’s squad.
Liverpool return to Premier League action away to Ipswich Town on Friday, September 4. Kick-off at Portman Road is 8pm UK time.
The Reds are looking for their first league win of the season after opening with consecutive 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
Women prepare for WSL opener
Liverpool FC Women begin their Women’s Super League season away to Charlton Athletic on Sunday, September 6.
Gareth Taylor’s side completed an unbeaten pre-season with five wins from five, finishing with a 7-1 victory over Durham. Beata Olsson scored a seven-minute hat-trick in that match.
