Barcola completes Liverpool move
Liverpool officially completed the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain on Monday, August 31.
The 23-year-old France international has signed a five-year contract after passing his medical at the AXA Training Centre. Sky Sports reports Liverpool will pay a guaranteed £106 million with add-ons potentially taking the deal to £123 million. (Liverpool FC)

Liverpool reject Manchester City bid for Gakpo
Cody Gakpo is now expected to remain at Liverpool after the club rejected an £80 million offer from Manchester City.
Sky Sports reported on Monday evening that Liverpool were unwilling to sanction the transfer because of concerns over finding a suitable replacement before the window closes. (Sky Sports)
The Guardian also reports that Gakpo is expected to stay at Anfield following the rejected offer. City have subsequently turned their attention to other attacking targets. (The Guardian)
Gakpo’s future had been linked to Liverpool’s reported interest in Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr. With Liverpool now retaining Gakpo, The Guardian reports that no further immediate first-team additions are expected following Barcola’s arrival. (The Guardian)
Liverpool working on two deals for 2027
Liverpool are also reported to have reached agreements for Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans and Saint-Étienne forward Djylian N’Guessan.
Brughmans, 18, is expected to remain at Genk for the 2026-27 season before joining Liverpool next summer. Reports put the proposed package at around €35 million. (ge)
Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Liverpool have agreed a deal for 18-year-old N’Guessan, with the France youth international also expected to arrive in the summer of 2027. The deals have not yet been formally announced by Liverpool FC. (Yahoo Sports)

Liverpool FC Women complete unbeaten pre-season
Liverpool FC Women concluded their pre-season programme with a 7-1 victory over Durham at St Helens Stadium.
Beata Olsson scored a seven-minute hat-trick, while Marie Höbinger, Ceri Holland, Sara Agrez and academy forward Vic Jones were also on target.
